Look what happens when you loan out your 911 Turbo Cab (X50)
I get a call from Marc Faraj at Town Motors Porsche and he tells me he did something bad…..
I asked him what can be so bad?
He said: I loaned out my 911 Turbo Cab to a buddy.
I said: How bad he says you’ll see……
When I received the car it was early morning the sun wasn’t out yet, the next day when I was able to pull it out I couldn’t believe my eyes! The car was shot!
What was done -
Exterior
- Wheels were prepped with P21S Wheel Gel and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash and washed down
- Wheel wells were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash and washed down
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Clayed
- Dried
- Paint inspected and measured
- Wheels protected with Swissvax Autobahn
- Tires dressed with einszett Vinyl Rubber Care
- 2 Step Paint correction (Meguiars M105 with an Uber Yellow, and Menzerna PO85RD with an Uber Blue)
- Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
- Einszett Glanz was used as a last step

This job was done last year, guess it got lost in the mix. We spent a total of 80 hours or so over 7 days on this car. We restored the paint to like new conditions, the before pictures will show you all the burn marks, holograms, swirls, and damage left by the previous detailer. The interior was cleaned up, and the engine was done as well.

Ten Amazing Years! It’s been an amazing – and shiny – ride!
On February 6, 2000, I set up a small booth at the Orange County Swapmeet in Costa Mesa, CA. Failing at the real estate business, I realized that detailing cars was the only thing putting food on the table. After a few weeks, and assembling a ‘How-To’ detailing write-up and a Detail Kit, I started adding to the booth and to the product line.
